Buy Dark Dreams Don’t Die. Please?

d4 dark dreams don't dieAn Xbox One is probably not in my future. Scalebound seems cool, and Sunset Overdrive looks like a blast, but neither is a game I’d buy a console for. I’m a writer, my funds are limited, and an Xbox One isn’t a purchase I can justify.

But if I had one, I’d buy D4: Dark Dreams Don’t Die.

Dark dreams don't dieI don’t know much about Dark Dreams Don’t Die, but what I do know is pretty fantastic. I know that it’s episodic and uses the Kinect. I know that has a time-traveling detective and all the dress-up you could ask for. I know it was directed by Deadly Premonition’SWERY, who is basically a goofier version of David Lynch.

I also know that SWERY isn’t happy with the game’s sales. He’s been tweeting up a storm, and what he’s said isn’t very good:

If you have an Xbox One, do the guy a favor and check out this game. It’s only 15 bucks, and you’ll almost certainly get your money’s worth. SWERY’s games have a way of making the world just a little bit brighter. They aren’t for everyone, but for the people who love them, they’re the best thing in the world.

Deadly Premonition fishMaybe you didn’t care for Deadly Premonition. Maybe time travel and mysteries aren’t your thing, and maybe you’re devoid of a soul.

But it can’t hurt to give the game a look. If it’s not your thing, you can keep your money in your wallet, and if it is your thing, your life could be forever changed. You’ve got nothing to lose, everything to gain, and you’ll make a guy named SWERY very happy.
