Ether One offers an interesting take on the examination of dementia and the loss of memory. As one of the free games for PlayStation Plus last month, I went into this title without knowing much about it, other than the huge amount of praise heaped on it from the guys over at Outlaw Gamers Society.
After the initial learning period, I was sucked into the world of Ether One pretty quickly. Initially, it can be compared to games like Portal and The Stanley Parable, and this comparison is pervasive throughout the first few hours of gameplay.
However, the game also has an identity much its own, tackling the ideas of memory loss and dementia in an interesting and palpable fashion.
I don’t want to spoil too much, but this is a definite must-own/must-play title. If you missed its free period on PlayStation Plus, you’ve done yourself a huge disservice.
