Look, I don’t want to tell anyone that they’re wrong for being excited about something. If you’ve enjoyed the Fallout series, more power to you. I hope that the next game in the series will be everything you’ve ever wanted.
As for me, though? I really wish Bethesda was working out The Elder Scrolls VI instead.
I mean, I get it. Skyrim came out in 2011; it’s not time for a new Elder Scrolls game yet. There’s nothing wrong with Bethesda showing some love to their other hugely popular series, The Elder Scrolls with Guns. They’ll probably make a shit ton of money off of this game, and that will keep the company going long enough for them to get to the next game I’m going to care about.
But when I played Fallout: New Vegas, it just didn’t interest me much. I did try. I gave the game three whole hours, and it just didn’t pull me in. I can’t really say why; it just wasn’t my thing.
With that said, I’m more than willing to eat crow. Since Fallout 3 was on sale on Steam this weekend, I figured ought to give the most popular game in the series a shot. Who knows? Maybe I’ll figure out what all the fuss is about.
Or maybe I’ll just go back to playing Skyrim.
