When I was a kid, I adored Brian Jacques’ Redwall series. I remember often walking home from the public library carrying a stack of Redwall books, knowing I was in store for high fantasy tales of heroism and rodentry. Since then, I haven’t been able to shake my fondness for anthropomorphic talking mice.
That’s why Mech Mice is on my radar. This is a turn-based hexagon-grid strategy game that features two of my favorites things: mechs and mice. I don’t normally pay a whole lot of attention to browser games, but this one looks like it’s been given a whole lot of love and attention by an insanely talented and creative development team. Plus, it’s undeniably adorable.
When I got a press release in my inbox this morning saying the game finally has a launch date, you can image I was pretty tickled. It will be launching on October 8, so when you’re out prematurely carving pumpkins or stitching up your zombie costume, I’ll be engaging in tactical battles between mice and robotic insectoids.
And here’s a brand new video that unveils a wrench-wielding engineer named Torq and a mouse-powered mech unit.
