There are no two ways about it: The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is an enormous game. On several occasions, I’ve pulled up the map to look for an active quest marker only to be completely overwhelmed as I struggled to locate the icon. The world is so much massive that it’s a genuine struggle see it all.
And I’m just talking about one small section of explorable space. This game is fricking huge.
At the rate I’ve been going, this game will likely take me the next several months to finish. Even then, my percentage will probably only be within the 65% range, if that. I’ve been doing plenty of exploring, but there’s just so much to see and do.
Of course, this isn’t a bad thing.
Thus far, at around 45-50 hours in, I’m still finding an immense sense of enjoyment and wonder as I play through the story and discover new things; attempting to unlock armor and find all of the ingredients to craft a new potion. Even just exploring the waterways is a great way to waste a few hours.
It’s been a long time since a game has blown me away like this, and I’m throughly enjoying it. Right now, I’m guessing it’ll be months or even years before another title comes along to take its place.
Although the recent announcement of Fallout 4 does have me looking toward the horizon.
